More fun today with the various simulators found at Space Camp Turkey. We also had the privilege to meet with HAM Radio Amateurs. They explained how HAM radio works on radio waves and how the signal is much more reliable than our mobile phones, especially in emergency situations. They brought their radios and made connections with other Ham Radio afficionados all around the world. One group made contact with an F14 pilot in Izmir while another made contact with someone just waking up in North Carolina. It was a lot of fun! Other new activities on the agenda today included seeing the hydroponics lab (where they experiment how they could grow plants in outer space using moss instead of soil), planning and building a colony on Mars, and rocket science engineering (exploring how rockets take off). All in all a great day! See you tomorrow!
